The Flashback Mini Delay is the perfect fit for the player who wants high-quality delay tones integrated into a setup with limited space. It's at godsend for musicians who like to travel light and hence rely on small and compact flyboards, or the tone chaser that just thinks mini-boards are cool and cute. Yes, cool and cute are totally legit reasons to buy gear, at least that's what we tell ourselves.

The Mini is also a great partner for the player that doesn't use that much delay and just needs a simple set-and-forget echo for subtle ambience and lead parts. Lastly, it's also a solid secondary delay option if you already have an advanced delay device on your board, and you just need some extra ambience to stack with your other delays from time to time. It might be mini, but damn it's mighty!

Flashback Delay

The original Flashback is perfect for the musician who wants a compact delay with tones they can change on the fly during a gig. Where the mini is a great set-and-forget pedal, the original lets you cover a lot of tonal ground during a set, which is great if you're in a cover band for instance. It's also a handy tool to have in the studio where having different delay flavors on different guitar tracks can really help bring the final mix together. Finally, it's also a solid option for the stereo-rigger where the PingPong setting or the Quarter Note/Dotted Eighth Note subdivion setting really brings your tone to life.

Get it if:

  • You need a lot of delay tones in a compact format
  • You want a pedal that'll make you sound like The Edge straight out of the box (hat and sunglasses might even enhance the experience)

Flashback X4 Delay

Okay, now things are heating up! The X4 is designed for the serious gigging musician that needs to be able to switch between multiple presets instantly during a gig. X4 features three of them, so you can go from a rhythmic slap to a soaring lead echo simply by hitting a switch. Another pivotal gigging feature is tap tempo which lets you get those delays in sync with your drummer when he starts to drift, and trust us, he will...otherwise it wouldn't be rock n roll.


On top of that you get a 40sec looper and 12 delay types and 4 TonePrint slots. MIDI in/out if you want to hide your precious delay away in a rack-shelf, and you of course also have stereo in/out so you can blow people away with your trippy PingPong delays.

Some people like delay, others love it and then there's the ones that have a completely unhealthy relationship with the effect. If you, like us, belong to that last category and basically live and breathe delay, then this is the pedal for you. It has the same delay tones as the X4, but where the X4 lets you switch between presets, the Flashback Triple Delay actually enables you to run all three presets at the same time, if you want... who are we kiddin', of course you want to! More delay equals more fun, right?


Where the X4 offered a looper, the Triple Delay instead offers the option to run your delays in either series or parallel, and with no less than 11 subdivisions you basically have an endless world of soundscapes and rhythmic echoes at your feet.

  • You think of delay when you're awake and dream of delay when you're asleep.

Alter Ego V2 and Alter Ego X4 Vintage Echo

There's Flashback and then there's Alter Ego, but what's the difference? We get asked this a lot, and the answer is actually quite simple. If you need to cover a lot of tonal ground from modern to vintage then get the Flashback, if you on the other hand just want to dissapear in the glorious smear and ambience of vintage tape delays and analog echoes then Alter Ego is the only way to go!


The feature set of Flashback/Flashback X4 and Alter Ego V2/Alter Ego X4 are the same, but where Flashback offers a plethora of modern and classic delays, the Alter Egos are completely dedicated to the echoes of the past like the Binson EchoRec, the Maestro Echoplex and the Watkins Copycat just to mention a few.
