Since its introduction in the beginning of 2008, user response to the LM5 radar loudness meter has been overwhelming. A meter to show instant loudness as well as loudness history intuitively for multiple genres and formats simply had not existed until then. LM5D now takes another metering quantum leap with the addition of ITU-R BS.1770 standard based Universal Descriptors for use in delivery specifications, precision leveling, quality control, logging and more.
LM5D does everything LM5 does. Moreover, it adds two long-term Universal Descriptors, Center of Gravity and Consistency, whereby any sports, news, music, commercial, or film program or track may be characterized easily and precisely. The meter not only measures dialog loudness with accuracy, but any type of content in any format from mono to 5.1.
