Ultimate Feature Set

Mic InputsFront panel control
The light ring is a very simple interface that gives you access to a wealth of possibilities, especially when you are using the konnekt 24D in stand alone mode. It gives you easy access, instant control and visual feedback on important parameters directly from the front panel.

If you don’t want to turn on your computer, but still want to use the TC effects in the konnekt 24D, you can access them directly from the front panel by using the light ring. What that in reality gives you is the possibility to e.g. plug your guitar directly into the konnekt 24D, and control dedicated parameters like the reverb return level or the reverb decay time of the Fabrik R reverb. In fact what you have in this example is a guitar preamp and a rack mount quality reverb, totally independent of your computer.

The light ring also gives you complete control of the internal routing of the konnekt 24D or e.g. the volume or pan status of the selected input. So in a way you have basic mixer functionality right at your fingertips, all thanks to the dedicated light ring control.

Intelligent stand-alone mode
Are you looking for an audio interface with that extra something - like stand-alone functionality, or with the crucial DSP you need to turn your mix into a masterpiece? konnekt 24D can be used as a basic stand-alone mixer and it even gives you full access to the built in TC effects when you’ve got your computer turned off. Use the reverbs and channel strip inside konnekt 24D in stand–alone mode and recall settings and routings directly from the front panel.

You can even select DSP programs including their internal routing, directly from the front panel. If you’ve e.g. set up the Fabrik C channel strip, tweaked a few parameters and made a special routing, you can save your settings and assign it to a front panel knob for easy and instant recall. This is great when you’re working in stand-alone mode and don’t want to turn on your computer – simply power up your konnekt, press the assigned knob on the front panel, and you’re up and running.

The intelligent stand-alone mode is just one of the many features that make the konnekt 24D a complete and actually quite unique solution - You get total integration with DAWs, as well as serious stand-alone functionality and superior effects processing that you can use anywhere and without a computer.

The control panel
From your computer you can operate the control panel which gives you easy access to the full feature set of the konnekt 24D. The control panel has been designed for intuitive and speedy control, without leaving any important tweaking possibilities out.

We’ve integrated a very cool auto input sensing system that detects what inputs you’re currently using. As soon as you connect a device, microphone, guitar, or something else to the analog inputs, the input automatically shows on the control panel. If nothing is connected to an input, the channel won’t be shown in the control panel. That leaves you with a complete and to the point picture of what you’ve got connected at the present moment.

If you connect a second konnekt to your setup, the auto detection kicks in, and the extra konnekt pops up. If you disconnect the second konnekt, it simply disappears from the control panel again. Pretty simple, yet very good for keeping things to the point and great for maintaining an overview of your entire setup.

From the main mix window you can control e.g. your monitor mix signal, your effects channels, your e.g. guitar input signal and the like. Control over gain, pan, the mix of each channel, as well as the send amount to the effect channels are pretty straightforward. In short, there’s no hanky panky, you’ve got everything you need, and you’ve got the full overview of your entire setup. Pretty cool!

Real-time monitoring – with effects
With the real-time monitoring capabilities of konnekt 24D, you have all the possibilities to create the perfect monitoring setup, which is quite a big deal in a recording situation. Imagine that you have to send what you’re playing through the computer before you can hear it. Most likely you’ll get quite a bit of latency.

The konnekt 24D let’s you monitor yourself directly through the device itself. "But hey, what about the effects, it would be cool to have just a squeeze of reverb on the monitoring signal" No problem, the inbuilt effects will process the signal with no latency as they are perfectly integrated into the real-time monitoring environment.

Remember, that you can do this completely without the computer turned on. If you want, you can even control the effects from the front panel of the konnekt 24D, which is pretty nice to have when you want to work in stand-alone mode.

Dual headphone output - when you're two in the studio
Dual headphone outputs are great for when you’re two in the studio. What that means is that if you’re doing a recording, and your friend wants to listen in on what you’re laying down, he can simply plug in to the extra headphone output.

Auto speaker muting
This feature automatically mutes your monitor speakers when you don't need them. It works like this: The outputs to the speakers are automatically muted when you plug your headphone jack in to the upper headphone output. You don’t need to go through a tedious setup procedure or worry about if you’ve switched the feature on or off, it simply works automatically.

This auto muting feature is an integral part of the analog circuit design of the konnekt 24D, which in turn is closely connected and integrated with the analog volume control. The analog volume control is your guarantee of maximal signal to noise ratio, even when you’re using your headphones.

State-of-the-art headphone amplification
We’ve built a state-of-the-art headphone amplification feature in to the headphone outputs, which gives you enough power to plug any kind of headphone set. One great benefit from this is that you don’t have to worry about what kind of headphones you’re using, the konnekt 24D will take care of business.

Another great advantage of the high level headphone amplification feature is that it will ensure that you always have enough level in your headphones. Having enough level is important if you want to get the full benefit of the noise to ratio signal maximum that the analog volume control and the analog circuit design has to offer.

Mic InputsCubase LE included
(version 1.0.10 Build 110)
Cubase LE is included with the konnekt 24D. In essence that gives you a complete recording solution right out of the box. Cubase is a serious host application for audio recording that integrates nicely with konnekt 24D.

TC FX Inside

konnekt 24D comes with professional and innovative high-quality TC effects. Inside the audio interface you’ll find the Fabrik C which is a channel strip par excellence, and Fabrik R which includes four new TC reverb algorithms.

Anybody familiar with TC, knows that our hardware products boast a superior and award winning sound quality. The effects you get with konnekt 24D are no exception! Once again we are happy to present you with “the sound of TC”. In fact, what you get is the capability and the sound quality of two full-blown 19” rack unit effect processors - built directly into the konnekt 24D.

MINTIn MINT™ condition
The Fabrik C and Fabrik R plug-ins are known from the PowerCore platform. They are both based on MINT™ - Meta Intuitive Navigation Technology – a completely new approach to internal audio processing.

The design and programming philosophy gives you instant gratification and ensures that you won’t waste time tweaking a bunch of parameters – to get professional results, simply move the MINT™ icons. You could say that it lets your ears back into audio production. Because that’s what it’s all about, listening, not tweaking.

On top of that we’re sure you’ll be amazed about the superior processing and sound quality that these MINT™ based effects have to offer. To learn more about MINT™ and Fabrik C and Fabrik R, please go here.

Mic InputInternal and external integration
One of the great things about the konnekt 24D is that it comes with effects that are ready to use. You can monitor the effects directly through the konnekt 24D and you can even do real-time processing while you record.

From the control panel you can even choose to record the dry signal, the processed signal from the Fabrik C or the processed signal from Fabrik R - or even all of them at the same time!
The really cool thing about this is not just that you can record everything at the same time, but also that the effects channels will automatically show in your host application, like e.g Cubase, as individual audio channels.

Plug-in streaming
With TCs plug-in streaming technology you also have the possibility to make the Fabrik C Live and Fabrik R Live behave like any other VST or AU plug-in. The effects will appear in your plug-in list in your DAW and you can insert them just like any other plug-in, and you have total recall, automation and all the other benefits from normal plug-ins that you are used to.

No pain, all the gain
On top of this, you’ve got to remember that normally when you use so-called internal effects, you’ll most likely put some strain on your computer’s CPU. When you use the effects that are built into the konnekt 24D, it will have zero, yes zero!, impact on your computer’s DSP. That’s because the effects are processed inside the konnekt 24D and in effect what you get is two full-blown hardware effects units.

Stand-alone access to the effects
As with any other rack unit effects processor, you want to have easy access to important parameters, directly from the front panel. No problem, the konnekt 24D sports an ingenious light ring knob that gives you fast and easy access to a selected set of features. What that means is that you can access the effects and more importantly use them, when your computer is turned off. That way you don’t have to deal with the hassle of powering up your entire setup, if you just want a bit of reverb when you’re rehearsing. Turn on the konnekt 24D, and you’re ready to go.

Integrator plug-in

The Integrator plug-in (VST and AU) makes integration of external hardware into your DAW environment seamless. It offers a “plug-in” audio routing representation of your external hardware, e.g. Reverb4000, Finalizer, System6000, etc.

VST and AU
Since Integrator operates like a normal VST/AU plug-in it can be inserted on any track, as a send effect or on the master output of your host application.

Multiple devices
Integrator works with up to four konnekt audio interfaces at a time, so if you have more interfaces, simply select the one that the external hardware is attached to.

Easy routing
To setup the routing of Integrator is as simple as possible. You only have to select the first audio channel: Integrator will then figure out how to route the rest. So, if you for instance have connected your external hardware to the S/PDIF 7+8, simply select S/PDIF 7.

Calibration
With the calibrate feature you can measure the latency of the entire signal chain from plug-in input to plug-in output, including the latency of the plug-in, the audio driver, the D/A and A/D converters and the latency of the external hardware you use. You can see the total roundtrip latency, and the host application will automatically compensate for this latency. Integrator has sample accurate latency measurement.

Test signal
Integrator is able to generate a test signal to verify that your external hardware is routed correctly. The auto test signal mode will cycle between channels.

Meters
Integrator features nice and clear send and return meter sections, and with the level controls you can control the send level and the return level individually.

Included with all konnekt audio interfaces
From TC Near konnekt software version 1.30, the Integrator plug-in is included with all konnekt interfaces.
