Tim Lefebvre possesses the willingness and ability to speak the language of those around him, which has led him to be on speed dial for countless artists. He produces, composes, remixes and of course plays a killer bass.
Lefebvre majored in both political science and economics before exploring the stage life on a cruise for the first time. When he returned his motivation for more was sky high. Lefebvre went straight for New York’s underground live electronica and jazz scene. With full exposure to the city’s most progressive players nothing held him back. Word spread quickly that a new impressive bassist was in town and Lefebvre’s opportunities grew full speed.
His career skyrocketed when he subbed in Saturday Night Live’s house band. It did not take him long to catch the eye of television and film executives opening new doors for him. He got to play and write for shows such as ‘The Sopranos’, ‘30 Rock’, ‘the Late Night Show With David Letterman’ and ‘The Apprentice’. Soon after Hollywood was all over him. Lefebvre performed on a number of movie soundtracks including ‘Oceans 12’, ‘The Departed’ and ‘Analyze That’. He composed music for ‘Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle” and ‘Please Give’ as well as commercials for Microsoft and Chevrolet. Lefebvre's major establishment came after his Domestic and European tour with saxophonist Donny McCaslin, which rooted his status as one of the industry’s most sought-after rhythm partners.
Lefebvre’s good spirits, open mind and willingness to play with anyone and everyone has fast-forwarded his development making it possible for him t play with musical geniuses such as guitarist Wayne Krantz and neo-classical jazz pianist Uri Caine. He is a musical multi-linguist is equally perfect in rock, jazz, fusion, electronica, R&B and any other genre he gets his hands on.
He has a big passion for bass, effects, gear and recording which has been a key component of his success. His ability to take sounds from various genres and implement these into other musical situations is amazing. He blends the elements so smooth, creating and entirely new sound.
