“This is a delay that I would most likely reach for 90 percent of the time when doing lead work”, Petrucci said after creating the 'Mountain Top' delay. “What I’m looking for is something that kind of responds to your dynamics and works with you, but gives you this sense of air around the notes you are playing.” The 'Mountain Top' delay has two different repeat times; a quarter note and a dotted eighth note from the original signal. The high-end of the repeats are rolled off so they don’t get in the way of your dry signal. It works both in mono and stereo configurations.
