DB6 is available in 5 different versions: DB6 Multi with 1, 2 or 3 SDI streams and DB6 AES with balanced or unbalanced connectors.    

DB6 Multi

DB6 Multi also comes with the ability to process one stream right out of the box, but you can also install one or two additional 'Transmission 3G' dual-engine cards and thereby increase the count of total streams per unit to two or three, making DB6 Multi the perfect, high-density solution for any TV station in need of processing multiple streams simultaneously.

Transmission 3G Expansion Card


Each Transmission 3G card holds two multichannel processors and is capable of running two LM6 Loudness Radar Meters as well as two LoudnessWizard algorithms simultaneously.

DB6 AES (Balanced & Unbalanced)

DB6 AES gives you up to 16 channels of AES3id unbalanced I/O on BNC connectors or 16 channels of AES balanced on SUB-D connectors. Depending on your integrated transmission system, you may prefer to pass your entire SDI signal through a loudness management system, or you may prefer to route only the audio signal through an insert point. With DB6 AES you get the opportunity to choose what fits your station the best.

DB6 AES (Unbalanced)

DB6 AES comes fully loaded with 16 channels of AES I/O, and by default the first 8 channels are active. Should you need even more channels, you can purchase a separate license for activating channels 9-16.

You can not combine SDI and AES I/O, or AES balanced and unbalanced, on the same DB6 unit.

Design Philosophy


Overall, it is our philosophy to provide tolerant inputs and strictly compliant outputs.

Our input section is tolerant towards all sorts of upstream misbehavior such as carrier inconsistencies, questionable status bit implementations or non-compliant incoming signals. And on the output side, we always make absolutely certain that you comply with recent standards. 

In other words, when you insert one of our units in your transmission chain, you can rest assured that you'll be at your best game no matter what the circumstances.

Redundancy & Reliability

It does not matter how well a transmission unit does its job, if it is not completely reliable. Being the last line of defense in a live scenario calls for ultimate redundancy and reliability.

We're serious about being fail-safe. Not only have we given you what you would expect - dual fans and dual fuses - we've also packed the DB6 with dual power inlets.  You are now virtually risk-free of losing power while on air.

We are aware that DB6 is inserted at a very critical point in your audio signal path and that it is an 'always on' type of unit that needs to deliver a non-stop performance years over years. Should the unlikely event happen that DB6 loses power, rest assured that your transmission will go on thanks to the Relay Bypass feature that passes your stream directly from input to output no matter what happens. 

Further, if one of the power sources fail, you can be notified using GPIO or SNMP traps.
