Flashback X4 Delay
Delay Done Right
Think of your favorite delay sounds and chances are it's a TC sound. Our delays are the industry standard, and our 2290 Dynamic Digital Delay is one of the most coveted pieces of gear out there today. We know and love delay, and have made sure Flashback X4 delivers the legendary TC quality at every turn. From the awesome digital 2290 sounds to beautiful analog tape echoes and more exotic vibes of a reverse delay, Flashback X4 delivers every delay sound under the sun - past, present and future.
The Delay Guitarists Deserve
Flashback X4 is so much more than the sum of four Flashback pedals. Sure, we do what we do to pay the bills, but at the core, we do this for the love of guitar. Our guitar team is dedicated to contributing to the guitar community because we are part of it! So, when feedback from Flashback Delay users started pouring in, we listened.
So many guitarists out there wanted presets, and the ability to switch between delay sounds instantly. Using Flashback's amazing sounds but switching between flavors made tons of sense to us, and so Flashback X4 caters to that wish perfectly with three presets that can be as different and varied as you need them to be.
Creativity In Your Own Tempo
The tap tempo feature was a no-brainer as that is already a fan favorite with some of our other delay pedals. You can easily set delay times or sync up with for example a drummer. Match delays to your guitar rhythms or solo ideas and diversify your playing with different tempos.

True to Tone
You love tone, so do we, and our design philosophy testifies to that. So whatever route you wanna go, we got your back. With optimized headroom, True Bypass or Buffered Bypass switch and Kill-Dry on/off, this pedal guarantees optimal tonal integrity and zero loss of tone. And, no matter if the pedal is on or off your precious dry sound is always passed through the pedal unharmed in all it's pure analog glory due to an Analog-Dry-Through.

The Flashback X4's overall audio quality, longer delay and looping times, updating and TonePrint capabilities, and MIDI functions put it over the top. They also qualify it for an Editor's Pick Award.
The Flashback X4 is an excellent sounding delay by any measure. And it’s home to an absolute wealth of features—including more delay voices than can be covered in the space of this review.

The combination of three different, instantly selectable delays plus tap tempo has proved to be an extremely practical configuration for any delay pedal, and the X4 carries on that tradition while adding something new. It's a very easy pedal to set up and use, and very reasonably priced

Superb sounds, flexibility, ease of use and expanded I/O options make this a very attractive and pro-level delay pedal that is affordable for all but the most budget conscious of players. TC is leading the way once again. I recommend you check one out as soon as you can!

The FlashBack X4 is a ton of fun. It sounds great whether using it as a looper or as a delay. The ability to download custom TonePrint delays from star players is really cool and then beaming them from your iPhone through your guitar pickups to the Flashback X4 is nothing less than geeky greatness.

With so many cool artists and effects only a few seconds away, you can really explore the sonic frontier to your heart’s delight. I plugged this into both my digital and tube amps and the sound was clean and full. There was almost no noise or distortion or attenuation of signal.

This unit is nothing less than state-of-the-art. The sounds are of legendary TC quality, the TonePrints are great and it offers tons of handy features like switching between true- and buffer bypass. Besides all that: when you are on stage and you need a looper, you simply have to check out X4.
Now, it will not be easy to find such a complete, simple, compact and good sounding delay… Competitors should be developing a counter-attack by now!
The TC Electronic X4 Delay is extremely simple to use and sounds brilliant.

Despite the simple layout and friendly user interface, X4 produces some serious sounds. There is simply nothing left to wish for in the types of delays found here and the default sounds simply sound great. All this makes Flashback X4 a serious contender for pros and hobbyists alike, regardless of style or musical orientation.
One thing I’ve found is that the Flashback X4 isn’t just about delays, it’s about the flexibility to create sounds and tones with delays. I have yet to find a pedal that sounds as good as the Flashback X4 and allows me to do so much. The possibilities of what you can do with the Flashback X4 are virtually limitless.
