This is a tight, fast slapback, plain and simple. Derrick was very adamant that he wanted the sound ‘as tight as possible’ and this results in a sound where the repeats seem to almost overlap and propel each other forward. This very creative take on delay quickly became Derrick’s favorite sound, and we think bassists everywhere will love it!
