It therefore offers a full-bodied tone and its ultra fast precision response enhances the percussive elements of Rocco's playing to perfection.

Rocco Rules

We don't have to tell you what a great player Rocco is. What we do have to tell you, is that he has a great ear for tone and that we have incorporated all his ideas and wishes into this amp, resulting in a  great-sounding combo!

Vintage Virtues

If you need to get back to the bass tones of yesteryear in a heartbeat and without breaking the bank - this is your go-to combo. Voiced by Rocco it is powerful yet very retro in tone.

Combo Coolness

The cabinet configuration features two customized Eminence 10" drivers and a 1" tweeter all housed in a vertical 18mm hard-wearing plywood cabinet with a pull-up handle and wheels for easy transportation. Surely, Rocco has roadies, but most others will enjoy the great portability of this combo.

Built–in Bass Tuner

The on–board bass tuner is chromatic, and it’s always on. In other words, you can check up on your tuning state at any time – even at a quick glance in the middle of a tune. And tuning up between songs is faster then ever. Crowds just hate waiting!

3 Presets

Do you ever play different basses – or tunes that need unique tones – on the same gig? You can create 3 presets tailored for e.g. a Jazz Bass, a P Bass and an active bass, or it could be for Rock, Slap or Upright bass. It’s all up to you, and you’ll find that swapping basses on the stage is faster than ever!


TubeTone gives you that vintage feel of an all–tube bass amp. Rather than fitting a single tube in the preamp section, we have designed a pristine circuit that emulates not only a tube preamp, but also a complete tube power amp. Add subtle tube warmth or crank it all the way up for dirty drive tone.


Multi–band compression – the musical way to control dynamics. SpectraComp can be subtle or downright aggressive, but either way you get the best bass compressor ever made. Single–band compressors tend to be controlled only by the lower strings, but with SpectraComp you virtually get ‘per string compression’.

Flexible Tone Controls

The EQ section is semi–parametric on all 4 bands. You may never need to use the semi–parametric option, but if you should happen to be at a venue that requires surgical frequency adjustment, just hit the Shift button and define exactly at which frequency each EQ–band should cut or boost.

Late Night Jammin’

If you like jamming late at night, plug in a pair of headphones for a silent session. Keep it grooving, and keep your family and neighbors happy at the same time.

Power Up Anywhere

The ultimate in convenience for the traveling musician. The built–in power supply operates from 90 to 240 Volts, making life a lot easier if you’re on the road as there’s no complicated fuse changing – just plug and play wherever you are!

Effects Loop

Use the Send/Return connectors to hook up external effects. Traditionally, dry/wet effects such as chorus or reverb are used in a Send/Return system, but today there are no rules. If you want to experiment with adding effects like drive or filter modulation ‘on top’ of your clean signal, this is the way to go.

Line Driver

The built–in DI is state–of–the–art. In many cases superior to external DI boxes, so if you need to send a signal to an FOH engineer, try this option first. You can also use it when recording in the studio, taking advantage of the flexible EQ section, SpectraComp and TubeTone.

Plug & Play

Use your iPod, phone, MP3 player or similar to jam along your favorite tracks. Just plug it into the AUX input and you’re ready for a rehearsal session, combining your favorite music with your favorite bass tone!

Want to switch easily between your presets, or tune up without having to turn around? The RC4 Remote is your solution!

You gain total control right at your feet, and it will also allow you to quicly mute the amp for silent tuning in betweens songs.

Was heißt „vertikal stapelbar“?

Vertikal stapelbar - wer denkt sich so was aus? Verkaufs- und Marketing-Leute? Tatsächlich war es unsere Entwicklungsabteilung für Bassprodukte, die hier den entscheidenden Impuls lieferte. Das Konzept entstand auf der Grundlage vieler praktischer Bassisten-Jahre. Richtig: Die Jungs, die bei TC Bass-Equipment entwickeln, sind selber Bassisten - und daher wissen sie, womit man als Bassist auf der Bühne zu rechnen hat.

Das Problem

Wenn Sie bei privaten Feiern oder in kleinen bis mittelgroßen Sälen auftreten, haben Sie sich vermutlich schon mehr als einmal dazu entschieden, mit nur einer Bassbox aufzutreten - typischerweise eine 4x10"-Konfiguration.

Wenn Sie eine 4 x10"-Box auf dem Boden platzieren, prallen die Schallwellen am Boden ab. Das ist zwar großartig, wenn man einen kraftvollen Bass-Sound haben will. Der Nachteil: Man hört nicht mehr die Details Ihres Spiels. (Nun - auf Kniehöhe schon, aber da hat man nun mal keine Ohren.)

Eine Lösung besteht darin, die Box auf einem Stuhl oder auf einem Rack zu platzieren. Prima - jetzt sind Mitten und Höhen viel besser zu hören. Dummerweise fehlt es nun an Bass. Durch das Anheben der Box gehen die Erstreflexionen vom Boden verloren.

Mit anderen Worten: Egal, wie man's macht: Mit nur einer 4x10"-Box sind Kompromisse bei der Klangqualität kaum zu vermeiden.

Horizontale Alternative

Insofern Sie TC-Boxen verwenden, können Sie mit den meisten unserer Verstärker drei Boxen gleichzeitig speisen.

Würde man nun drei 2x10"- oder 2x12"-Boxen vertikal stapeln, hätte man einen ziemlich hohen Stack - und käme möglicherweise nicht einmal mehr an das Topteil …

Aber keine Sorge: Bei der Verwendung von drei Boxen macht es durchaus Sinn, diese wieder "traditionell" horizontal zu stapeln.

Die Lösung

Die Lösung des Problem ist unser einzigartiges Konzept: vertikal stapelbare Boxen. Es spricht ja grundsätzlich nichts gegen 4x10"-Boxen. In den meisten Situationen sind sie mehr als ausreichend. Das Problem besteht darin, dass alle vier Lautsprecher 4 hier quadratisch in einer 2x2-Konfiguration montiert sind.

Unsere Lösung: Vier Lautsprecher - zusammengestellt aus zwei 2x10"-Boxen, 2x10" plus 2x12" oder zwei 2x12"-Boxen. Ob Sie also nun 20- oder 12 Zoll-Lautsprecher bevorzugen: Das "Ei des Kolumbus" ist die vertikale Anordnung.

Die Erstreflexionen der bodennahen Lautsprecher gewährleisten einen kraftvollen Bass - aber gleichzeitig sorgt die obere Box für eine detailreiche Wiedergabe auf Ohrhöhe.

Keine Kompromisse mehr. Problem gelöst!

Klassisches Stacking

Wenn es nicht so sehr auf die Aspekte Gewicht und Platz ankommt, darf es natürlich auch die klassische 8x10"-Zusammenstellung sein. Oder wie wäre es mit 2x12" als Fundament, 4x10" in der Mitte und oben 2x10"? So profitieren Sie natürlich von denselben Vorteilen wie bei der vertikalen Anordnung der kleineren Boxen.

Just like early reflections are key to the Vertical Stacking concept, you can take advantage of the same phenomenon if you use either an RS212 or RS112 as the lower cabinet and an RS210 as the upper cabinet.

It's perfectly fine to align the front of each cabinet, but if you want to emphasize clarity and definition in a natural way (without adjusting the tone controls of the amp), try pushing the upper RS210 cab back a bit.

Now, you will get eary reflections of the upper cabinet coming your way, and even though it may sound like a minor adjustment, the difference is significant and you can control the amount of early reflections by how far you push back the RS210 cab.

The Staccato ’51 may not sound as hi-fi as many of today’s modern, lightweight bass amps (Genz-Benz, Markbass, Gallien Krueger) when set up right out of the box, but that’s not what Rocco Prestia intended when he helped to revamp EQ points, add compression and dial in a little tube growl. This amplifier has a distinctive voice, one that hearkens back to the glory days when the Ampeg B15 “flip-top” was the amp of choice for discerning bassists both onstage and in the studio. Yet, with just a little tweaking, even non-geeks can find a hi-fi sound easily and – what’s even better — they can store that sound with the push of a button. The Staccato ’51 is not your father’s bass amp —it just sounds like it is.

The RS210 and RS212 8-ohm cabinets are optimized for vertical stacking. In this arrangement, you get the benefit of really hearing your tone as it sounds. The speakers handled everything we threw at them, and they stayed tight and focused with almost everything we threw at them. This is a rig for players seeking clean, punchy bass tone. It’s big, it’s rich, and it’s beautiful sounding.

As expected, each of the cabinets has its own distinctive tone, and I tried any combination of the three. The RS210 offered surprising amounts of volume with no distortion, as did the RS212, while the larger Rs410 is above par compared to many other current manufacturers. My back as well as my ears love them.
