Alan “Snoop” Evans II, born August 3, 1980, a native of Detroit, MI., has taken the gospel music industry by storm with his unique approach to playing bass.

Snoop began playing drums in church at the tender age of 7 with his mom and dad who are both great musicians. Snoop quickly began to grow as a musician by watching his uncles and aunts play and sing at his grandfather’s church, New Christ Temple, in Detroit. Snoop learned to play bass, first by watching his father’s pedal work as he played the Organ during church services. Imitating what he heard, developed his ear and gave him a good foundation as a gospel bassists. Years of practice, hard work, dedication to his faith and the love for the bass guitar has afforded Snoop to be a working musician on a consistent basis in Gospel Music.

Snoop is the principle Bass Player for the Word Network. The Word Network broadcast to millions of viewers in over 200 countries. He also works with Award Winning Artists such as Donnie McClurkin, The Clark Sisters, Kierra Sheard, Karen Clark Sheard, Jonathan Nelson and many more. He has also performed with Andre Crouch, Israel Houghton, Hezekiah Walker, Fred Hammond, Kim Burrell, Martha Munizzi and many more.

He is a live and session musician in the gospel community, as evidenced by his impressive discography and the countless live performances that mark his professional career. Snoop places a high value on faith, personal integrity and family values which can be attributed to his sustainable career as a professional musician. He is committed to personal development as a musician, husband, and father. Snoop is happily married to Tasha Evans. They have two children,Lailah and Alan III. He looks forward to many more years of continued success as professional musician and family man.
