BG250
Power to Roll
What good is having a ton of power if you risk your back or need to rent a forklift every time you have a gig? None, that's why we designed BG250 to have 250 watts of raw power, delivered through our cutting-edge, lightweight Class D amp technology that helps bringing the total weight down to an extremely portable 35 lbs - making it one of the lightest yet loudest combos in its class.
Signature Effects
BG250 sports Bass TonePrint, a unique feature that lets you load signature effects into the TonePrint slot. We've got an ever-expanding roster of the coolest people in bass today give us their signature versions of TC effects.
They're available for free and you can beam them directly to your BG250 via our übercool free smartphone app.
Making a Splash
When we entered the bass market, we made quite a splash. We have a dedicated team of bass players that really want to make a difference so we came up with a bunch of features that made sense to us, like a tuner on board, realistic tube/drive emulation and SpectraComp, our own 'per-string' compression, giving you a combo that makes life as a bassist that much better.

Effect Types
You can load and swap effect types on the BG250/BH250 via USB or the TonePrint App for smartphones. Once you load an effect of your choice to the amp, you can use the white TonePrint knob to adjust the wet/dry balance - more or less effect so to speak.
Octaver
You will find that our Sub'n'Up Octaver is one of the most flexible octavers you'll ever come across. It can take you up an octave, or down an octave, keep it clean, or add some dirt. And it tracks like no other octaver you have ever tried - all the way down to the low B-string!
Chorus
The Chorus effect is based on our legendary Stereo Chorus Flanger - aka SCF - that set new standards for chorus greatness decades ago and is still going strong. Now, it has been tailored with painstaking attention to detail for one specific purpose: Bass!
SpectraComp
SpectraComp is the same multi-band compressor that you'll find in the Blacksmith. In essence, you get a 'compressor per string' that is not fooled by the impact of the lower strings only, which is a known problem when using single-band compressors for bass.
Flanger
The BH250 Flanger effect builds on our Vortex Flanger pedal that has amazed and inspired bass players all over the world ever since its release in 2010.
Bass Drive
Bass Drive will give you the same convincing tube-like character that the TubeTone feature of e.g. RH750 and the Blacksmith is so famous for. On top af that, it can also get downright dirty and add drive, distortion or fuzz for more heavy duties.
Vibrato
The Vibrato effect is similar to our Vibrato Shaker pedal. It may not be the most common effect for bass players, but many have found it great for experimenting with new styles and creative ideas.

Reviews
I found the TubeDrive knob impossible to resist. At lower settings, it added complexity to the mid frequencies, but cranking it produced the crackling gnash of a high-powered tube amp frying cathodes on a hot plate. (...) The Clean Octaver produced the sub-octave, with the control affecting the clean/effect balance. It tracked perfectly, giving me a glitch-free octave all the way down to my low B. Of course, to actually hear that pitch, one would have to be from a distant galaxy, but that's beside the point. The Dirty Octaver gets nasty with a fuzz-like overdrive and not-so-faint-overtones at the 5th and octave that give the note a distinct powerchord flavor - very cool.
Well, hats off to TC Electronic. In the BG250 they've created a winning combo that does exactly what it purports to. The weight and its associated ease of transportation is what will interest most people, as well as its competitive pricing. When you factor in that you can get a wide variety of of tones from the BG250, especially courtesy of its tube amp simulation and the included TonePrint channel, it's hard not to love it. If you're a gigging musician looking for an alternative to your bulky head and cab for those smaller gigs and rehearsals, then you've found your baby.
The BG250 is a powerful little beast, to say the least. (...) A great tool for budget-minded bassists who want full tone without backbreaking weight. Considering all it has to offer, the BG250 packs a big bang for the buck.

Both the combo and separate head are brilliant - straight out of the box a nice celan tone, but with the addition of the effect blocks via TubeDrive and TonePrint, they are amongst the most flexible on the market today - easy on the bank balance and easy on the back too.

It's simply amazing what this combo offers for the price at which it sells. It has a very firm bottom end with plenty of tone and volume - and the addition of TonePrints is very exciting. Finally, the TubeDrive section sounds great and delivers all the dirt and grit you could ever need.
It's hit after hit for TC and their new and innovative bass products. BG 250 is loud and flexible and the price is absolutely killer. It's a modern combo that is super-light but sounds very weighty.
Sound-wise, this amp really delivers, regardless of the bass you’re using. The EQ is flexible and plays nicely with active or passive pickups. The tube drive control really adds a pleasant color, as the overdrive never outshines the original bass tone; at lower settings it adds subtle warmth, increasing it really brings out a tight, aggressive overdrive that echoes the old tube-driven amps.

BG250 offers a lot of value for your money. It has excellent clean and vintage distorted sounds and you can do an awful lot with the TonePrints. Using TonePrints is quick, simple and we did it with a smile on our faces.
A great amp, I am really impressed with the BG250s list of features, TC’s constant development and exploration of new technology and above all the great range of tones on tap. Clean, round vintage sounds or dial in some Tubedrive and balance the Gain for a little edginess right through to razor distortion. Another great offering from TC Electronic and a cool midsized rig option for those looking for good headroom, some extra features and a solid package. Ace!

A fully featued 15-inch combo that you can easily carry with one hand. Despite its low weight, it delivers a powerful bass sound and thanks to the 'intelligent' EQ and TonePrint functionality, it is very flexible with regard to tone and is easy to use even for beginners. TC has made it really hard not to like the BG250 - my warmest recommendation to all combo fans!

A compact, fully digital amp with a 15 "speaker and tweeter. Instead of MIDI interfaces or built-in multi-effects, you can use the USB or the TonePrint App to upload TonePrint effects. This amp is so much fun, especially if you play with the effects. Give it a spin when you get the chance and, if possible, invite check out the various TonePrints. Definitely worth it!
