Learn more about TonePrints for bass Last year, we introduced our range of amazing TonePrint guitar pedals. Now some of the best bass players in the world have added their personal touch to these pedals. In other words, with these new Bass TonePrints, you can turn our TonePrint pedals into dedicated bass effects in a matter of seconds!
All of these Bass TonePrints are totally free, and for starters, we had such great players as Nathan East (Clapton, Fourplay, etc.), Mark King (Level 42), Divinity Roxx (Beyoncé), Gail Ann Dorsey (Lenny Kravitz), Charles Cave (White Lies), Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Nine Inch Nails, Beck) and Uriah Duffy create their unique tones. Charles Cave TonePrints
Charles Cave is the bassist and backing vocalist of Indie rock up-and-comers White Lies, who broke into the international spotlight in 2008 with their chart topping debut album ‘To Lose My Life…’ Besides Cave’s musical duties, he is also the primary lyricist in the band, using frontman Harry McVeigh as a ‘vessel’ to convey his messages.
Cave actually started playing ‘bass’ on his dad’s acoustic six-string guitar, learning songs from his favorite bands Pantera and Black Sabbath, before eventually graduating to a real bass.

Divinity Roxx TonePrints
Divinity Roxx is a bassist who has gained considerable fame for her vibrant performances, vigorous bass lines and her natural ability to spit out fast-paced rap simultaneously. In 2006, these attributes, amongst others, led her to landing the prestigious role as Beyoncé’s bassist and the Musical Director of ‘The Beyonce Experience’ and “I am… Sasha Fierce” tours. Roxx can also boast five years of playing, touring and recording with bass extraordinaire Victor Wooten. - Roxx has also shown promise and ambition as a solo artist, having self-released her first solo album ‘Ain’t No Other Way’ in 2003, whilst she is planning the release of her second solo album ‘The Roxx Boxx Experience’ in 2012.

Duff McKagan TonePrints
Best known for his twelve year tenure in rock band Guns’n’Roses, Duff McKagan is an amazing bass player that has also been a member of Velvet Revolver and is currently part of rock group Loaded. With a career spanning over three decades, McKagan has been in over 30 bands and collaborated with artists like Iggy Pop, Jane’s Addiction, Slash’s Snakepit, Macy Gray, and Manic Street Preachers. In addition to his musical career, McKagan has also established himseld as a writer, handling weekly columns and releasing a highly acclaimed autobiography. He is now focused on writing new material for Duff McKagan’s Loaded.

Gail Ann Dorsey TonePrints
Gail Ann Dorsey is an American top session bassist and vocalist with an eclectic and impressive career spanning more than two decades. Having started her professional career in London, she has had a long history of collaborations with UK based artists, most notably her near ten year tenure as David Bowie’s touring bassist/vocalist. As of 2011, she has started touring with American rocker Lenny Kravitz. Through the years, Gail has also found time to record three critically acclaimed solo albums; ‘The Corporate World’, ‘Rude Blue’ and ‘I Used To Be’.

Janek Gwizdala TonePrints
Janek is a US based British bassist and record producer who is adamant on doing things his own way. He dropped out early from both The Royal Academy of Music in London and Berklee College of Music in Boston to pursue his own musical journey. This included gaining experience with renowned artists such as Mike Stern, Marcus Miller, Hiram Bullock and Delta Goodrem. Lately, Janek has also made a business out of creating a website with video bass lessons, is active in online forums and social media, and has written a book titled “Marketing for Musicians – We All Need It”.

Jon Thorne TonePrints
Renowned as a passionate, energetic and highly skilled performer, Jon Thorne’s career as a double bassist and composer has spanned a broad range of the musical spectrum. Thorne has shown to be a quick learner, having only picked up the double bass in his early twenties and thereafter having gone on to prove himself as “a true modern bass warrior” according to The Guardian.
As double bassist in the acclaimed groundbreaking electronica band Lamb, he has virtually pioneered the use of live double bass playing in electronic music. In addition to playing with Lamb, Thorne has also recorded a couple of solo albums and contributed to recordings and performances of diverse artists such as Robert Miles, Lou Rhodes and Robert Fripp.

Juan Alderete TonePrints
Juan Alderete is an American bassist who rose to fame for his part as one of the fouding members of Racer X, with whom he still plays today. Since 2003, Juan has also teamed up full-time with The Mars Volta to add his crisp bass lines to their progressive rock repertoire. With The Mars Volta he has even added a Grammy Award to his trophy cabinet for their song “Wax Simulacra.” He is a rarity amongst bassists as a result of his extensive and effective use of effects, which often matches and outdoes that of a very effects-conscious guitarist.

Justin Meldal-Johnsen TonePrints
Justin Meldal-Johnsen is an LA based whirlwind of talent who works across musical genres. He is a bassist, producer, songwriter and musical director who most notably gained critical acclaim for his influential collaborations with, amongst other, Nine Inch Nails and Beck. Additionally, an extensive list of artists such as Tori Amos, Dixie Chicks, Gnarls Barkley, Courtney Love and Nelly Furtado have all benefited from his musical gift in various forms, whilst he has also contributed to a variety of film scores. Justin is a self-proclaimed “sound design effects freak”, making the TonePrint collaboration a perfect fit.

Mark King TonePrints
Mark King is an English musician and singer who found fame for his mind-boggling bass skills and his extraordinary contribution to the development of the instrument. In fact he was an influential contributor to the development and popularization of the 70s and 80s-era ‘slap and pop’ style of bass. He has always pursued a distinct sound as his characteristic and very percussive playing style demands clarity and a sound that cuts effectively through the mix.
Since founding Level 42, as a determined 19 year old in 1979, he has gone from success to success with sales of over 31 million albums. This is not including several of his solo albums, some of which were self-released in small volumes.

Michael Shuman TonePrints
Michael Shuman has made a name for himself as the bassist of American heavy rock outfit Queens of the Stone Age. He is known for his energetic stage presence, which adds a lift to QOTSA's live performances. Although he is best known as a bassist, he did start as a guitarist and now also plays drums in the band Mini Mansions, which he helped form.

Nathan East is the Swiss Army knife of bassists. His extraordinary talent and versatility has led him to playing and recording across genres with the biggest talents in the music industry such as Michael Jackson, George Harrison, Barry White, Madonna, Whitney Houston and Phil Collins, just to name a very select few. Since 1991, he has been an influential founding member of contemporary jazz quartet Fourplay, whilst also being part of Eric Clapton’s studio and touring bands since the 1980’s.

Roscoe Beck TonePrints
Roscoe Beck has been a constant presence on the L.A. and Austin, Texas jazz and blues music scenes for many years. An extremely talented bass player and producer, Beck has worked with artists Robben Ford, Eric Johnson, Jennifer Warnes, and The Dixie Chicks. He is also known for his long-time collaboration with artist Leonard Cohen, with whom he currently serves as musical director. He has recently released a solo record, “Walk On”, featuring a multitude of talented guest artists.
