About Tres Gilbert

Tres Gilbert is one of Atlanta's top bass players and one of the hardest working guys in the industry.Tres is also a highly regarded record producer and a member of the TC Bass Street Team.

Tres Gilbert is no other than a heavyweight champion when it comes to taming the wild powers of the bass. He can be heard on all possible platforms and has played with all the big players in the game. He has done it all and he is not even close to the finish line!

Tres Gilbert is the premier bass player coming out of Atlanta. He has truly mastered the skills of the bass by playing since he was 12. He participated in Jazz Laboratory and Orchestra where he further gained a passion and endearing love for music. His extreme skillset has allowed him to collaborate and play with a wide range of artist.

Tres' signature hard-driven bass line can be heard on several television promotions for well-known brands, in different television shows, and on box office hit soundtracks like The Fighting Temptations and Love Jones. This Atlanta's Choice Award nominee for Best Bassist has been honoured to play for former Atlanta mayors and for former president Bill Clinton.

On the live scene he has toured with prominent R&B names like 112, Kelly Price, TLC, New Edition, BBD, Johnny Gill, and The Heads of State (Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, and Ralph Tresvant) among others.

Not only does Tres Gilbert master the bass, but he's also a Grammy nominated producer. As the founder of the production company 3rd World Music, he produced Calvin Richardson's 4th album, Facts of Life: The Soul Of Bobby Womack. He also produced and played for Grammy Award Winner Ann Nesby, with whom he also performed for at the 2009 and 2010 Soul Train Music Awards.

Tres' wide musical talent has also allowed him to play with renowned Jazz musicians including Alex Bugnon, Gerald Albright, Peabo Bryson, Gabriela Anders, Phil Davis, and Bob Baldwin.

Tres Gilbert has just released his first solo project Trichotomy and is currently working on a TV-show called The Music Store. It goes with out saying that Tres Gilbert is a living bass legend!

Tres Gilbert is a huge TC-fan and when asked the question by James Ross from 'Why did you choose TC?' Tres' answer was simply: 'Honestly it's just pure… you can feel it, it's very transparent, the EQ is bananas, the tuner is all the way crazy, the toneprints are like ice cream with cherries on top… '
