About Roger Glover
'Burn', 'Highway Star' and 'Smoke on the Water' are chart-toppers by world-renowned Deep Purple and Roger Glover is laying down the bass lines in this influential rock band. Roger is one of the true bass pioneers of rock and we are extremely proud that he is using our gear to spike his sound.
Roger started out in local band, The Madisons, but in 1969 Roger joined Deep Purple and was part of hugely successful albums like 'Deep Purple in Rock' and 'Machine Head'. Deep Purple is considered to be among the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock and they have sold over 100 million albums worldwide. After four years in Deep Purple, Roger left the band and became a successful record producer for groups like Judas Priest, Nazareth and Elf. He also released two solo albums before re-joining with his former band mate, Ritchie Blackmore, as a producer for his solo project, Rainbow. In 1984, Deep Purple reunited and Roger returned to his old band - where he still plays today.
In his busy schedule, Roger still finds time to record and release solo albums, and in the beginning of August 2011, he released his fifth solo album 'If Life was Easy'. One can only respect Roger's extraordinary and successful career both as one of the defining members of Deep Purple, but also as an independent record producer and songwriter.
We are extremely proud that Roger has decided to have our bass gear deliver the power and punch in the low end when playing stadiums and major venues all over the world with Deep Purple: 'The two RS410s delivered so much power, I was blown away. I normally use four times as much speaker space, but the TC Electronic rig delivered everything I needed,' says Roger and continues.'What particularly impressed me was the quality - firm bass, clean top and an overall roundness that gave me more body when I moved up the fretboard to the higher frequencies, something that has frustrated me over the years. Simply put, a superb setup. Fantastic stuff!'
