About Peter Freeman
As a musician Peter Freeman has played with Seal and Alanis Morissette. As a producer and mixer, he works on everything from records to live performances, with a focus on film and TV.
He has used TC products for many years starting with the legendary 2290 Delay. He actually still uses the 2290 which will always have a special place in his heart.
'That's my favourite delay ever'
More recently he has been introduced to the System 6000, drawn by its ability to create incredibly natural sound — specifically the surround reverbs.
'Recently I mixed a film score for composer Anton Sanko for a film called Visions. The score had a strong orchestral component. The strings in particular had to have a very organic natural sounding texture. The richness in the surround reverbs give a real acoustic sounding realism. The 6000 was absolutely the key to that. It was just great. It was exactly what I needed,' Freeman said.
Obviously, the power of System 6000 is not only in its actual power, but in how easily that power is harnessed. As Freeman puts it:
'Aside from the obvious sound quality of it, it' s really the layout of the design and the user interface that make System 6000 great. I learned it very quickly without having to open the manual. It was just very logically presented and didn't really require any effort to get it configured to do what I needed to do. The 6000 is a nice balance between great power in terms of what you can actually do at any given moment with a good simple UI you can get without too much head scratching.'
As a musician Peter has played with a variety of big stars, like Seal, Alanis Morissette and John Cale from The Velvet Underground.
In a lot of his film work he plays several instruments for the score besides doing the mixing.
